This one-hour on-demand webinar will start with a discussion on the fundamentals of Bluetooth mesh and how it compares to other 802.15.4 protocols in the 2.4 GHz frequency range. We will then take a comprehensive look at the components of Bluetooth mesh before introducing you to an integrated system-on-chip solution capable of running large-scale Bluetooth mesh device networks.

Bluetooth mesh is a wireless topology that enables many-to-many communication, and is particularly suitable for building and home automation solutions including lighting and sensor networks. During the session we will introduce the STM32WB, a 32-bit multi-protocol system-on-chip (SoC) with the capability to power Bluetooth mesh proxy nodes, friend nodes, relay nodes—and most importantly, low-power nodes.

You will also discover a rich development ecosystem designed to remove the complexity and greatly simplify Bluetooth mesh implementation in your project. Finally, we will show you where to find useful examples within the STM32CubeWB software ecosystem to help you evaluate your design and get your prototype up and running.

Hakim Jaafar has more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, and is currently the Marketing Director for the STM32 Wireless Business Line at STMicroelectronics. He joined ST in 2000, and since then has held numerous key positions within ST’s 8- and 32-bit MCU organizations. In 2015, Jaafar was promoted to lead development of the new STM32 Wireless product line, which has now launched the STM32WB (2.4 GHz) and STM32WL (sub-GHz) MCU Series. Hakim holds a Master’s Degree in Physics and Applications from the University Paul Sabatier, and a Master’s in Semiconductor Physics and Management (Engineering degree) from Ecoles des Mines de St Etienne in France.
