Precise positioning for L2 and L3 passenger vehicles, V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything), and basic vehicle navigation relies heavily on a system’s ability to track the position of a vehicle at any moment. Satellite data is not always accurate when driving between tall buildings, or available when driving through a tunnel or parking structure. However, the vehicle must still be able to update its position in real-time until the signal is again available.

Stuart Ferguson has 35 years of experience in development, design, engineering management, manufacturing, and business development for automotive MEMS and sensors. He holds a Masters Degree in Semiconductor Physics, and is currently responsible for STMicroelectronics' Automotive MEMS and Sensors in the Americas region.
