Webinar: Developing with Sensors Made Simple

Discover the easy way to add advanced motion and environmental sensing to your design

During the video, you will learn how to use ST’s X-Nucleo-IKS01A3 motion MEMS and environmental sensor board to jump-start your next sensor project. The board features ST’s newest and most advanced low-power and high-accuracy sensors, including a 6DoF inertial measurement unit (IMU), a 3-axis MEMS accelerometer, a nano pressure sensor, and a digital temperature sensor for on-board temperature calibration in the final application.

We will also demonstrate how our X-CUBE-MEMS1 software expansion pack for STM32CubeMX makes it easy to set up the sensors, log sensor data, optimize sensor configurations and leverage embedded smart sensor functions.

Topics Covered:

  • Introduction to ST's newest sensors and the X-Nucleo-IKS01A3 sensor board.
  • Starting a project using STM32CubeMX and the X-CUBE-MEMS1 software pack.
  • How to set up the sensors, log sensor data, optimize sensor configurations and leverage embedded smart sensor functions.

Matteo Fusi is a Product Marketing Manager for Sensors and Actuators at STMicroelectronics, a position he has held since 2018. He joined ST in 2010 as a member of the MEMS Technology Development team working on motion sensors and micro-actuators. He transferred to the US in 2014, and since then has focused on growing the IoT business through system solutions for smart environments and smart things. Matteo Fusi was born in Milan, Italy in 1981 and graduated from the Politecnico di Milano with a Masters Degree in Electronics and a Ph.D in Materials Engineering.

About the X-NUCLEO-IKS01A3 motion MEMS and environmental sensor board system

The X-NUCLEO-IKS01A3 is compatible with the Arduino UNO R3 connector layout and features the LSM6DSO 3-axis accelerometer + 3-axis gyroscope, the LIS2MDL 3-axis magnetometer, the LIS2DW12 3-axis accelerometer, the HTS221 humidity and temperature sensor, the LPS22HHpressure sensor, and the STTS751 temperature sensor.

The X-NUCLEO-IKS01A3 interfaces with the STM32 microcontroller via the I²C pin, and it is possible to change the default I²C port.
