ACS are static-switch semiconductors for alternating current. They are simple-to-drive, sensitive-gate devices with highly inductive load switch-off capability. They are targeted at appliance actuators, such as water valves and drain pumps.
Their logic-level gate characteristics allow direct input from the microcontroller. The high immunity of the device reduces the need for MOVs and snubbers in the circuit.
These devices have a 600 V blocking capability with further clamping and crowbar features for large overvoltage transients.
They are available in SO-8, SO-20, SOT-223 or TO-92 packages.
