FOTA（Firmware Over-The-air）サービスは、自動車に搭載されたどの電子制御ユニット（ECU）についてもファームウェアのダウンロードやアップデートを可能にします。自動車のECUが増加する中、車載システムおよびコンポーネントからの診断/処理データを共有することは、自動車メーカーがリコール費用を削減し、製品の品質や処理効率を高め、販売後に車両の性能強化や機能強化を実施する上で有効と考えられます。

アップデートにはサイバー攻撃に対する復元力が求められます。サイバーセキュリティが最も重要です。
